My Photography and Video of
Zappa's Birthday, December 21, 2009
I celebrated Frank's birthday at the Black Lotus Brewery in Clawson, MI, where Ugly Radio Rebellion performed with Ike Willis. I didn't take any photos or video, but I did take a picture with me and Ike after the show.
The summer 2009 tour was the trio, without Ike Willis. I caught them at Bell's Brewery in Kalamazoo on July 31, 2009. It was an outdoor show and they were practically in the dark (some of the bulbs were not lit for some reason). I enhanced the photos in Photoshop so you could see them better, although it was nighttime when these were taken. They put on a great show and I am looking forward to seeing them again to celebrate Frank's birthday in November.
The "Who the F#%k is Andrew Lewis" Tour (June-July 2006)
Ugly Radio Rebellion currently consists of Scott Schroen (guitar), Rudy "Mild" Maldonado (percussion), Layla Hall (percussion), and John Garland (bass and keys). Andre Lewis was supposed to join them for this tour, but cancelled at the last minute. Luckily, Ike Willis came to the rescue (and I'd rather see him anyway!).

This day was especially great because in the afternoon, I picked up Ike in the Music Machine and took him back for a tour of my home so he could finally see my artwork close up. He even confirmed that a piece of equipment I had purchased off E-bay that was stated to have been used in one of Frank's bands was truly legitimate! Apparently, it is a microphone routing box. I also saw them at King's Brewery in Pontiac, MI on June 21, 2006, but I didn't get any photos. On all three occasions, I won the dance contest and got a free kazoo. Although I must admit, I was pretty much the only one dancing, which is usually the case when I go to see my favorite musicians. Oh well---that makes more room for me! Here are a few pictures Brian took of me dancing at Boulder's...
