Bunny Boy

This rabbit was found in the woods at Holly State Park on October 5, 2013, and is presumably a meat rabbit that escaped from one of the nearby farms as there was no indication he was lost or missing from any caring family. I captured him in my backpack and carried him back to the car, knowing he would die soon out in the wild. There was freezing rain that night. His ears were cold and he didn't even put up a fuss about being put in a dark bag. He remained calm the whole way home. He turned out to be a funny, quirky rabbit that lived with me for 5 years.

Bunny Boy's ears change all the time. He started out with black velvety ears but never got them again. Here are his ears in September 2015 and a couple photos of him by his cage, scent-marking in the second photo.
