Waterloo, Eddy Discovery Center Trails. Of course, he was happy to roll around in the dirt and dig.
He also relaxed on the boardwalk at the bog for longer than usual.
The two beagles we commonly see were barking at the bog and got Lyle riled up. Several weeks ago, he learned he could howl, and did so after hearing a dog barking outside. I haven't heard him do it again until today, when he let out two long howls after hearing those beagles. The first photo below shows him howling.
Here he is near the end of the day, tired, but not too tired to dig and roll around!

Lyon Oaks.
There was an area full of wild phlox. Here is the first photo shoot.
We went around one of the smaller loops and returned to the flower area again for a second photo shoot in slightly different lighting.
I asked Lyle to check out this tree cavity and he did.
These were taken in the field part of the trail near the lot. Lyle was watching airplanes, which is why he's looking up in some of the photos.

Proud Lake State Park.
Most of the snow had melted, but there was a little left on the boardwalk to roll in.
Lyle surprised me and jumped up on the rock today. The second photo shows him awaiting the approach of some people with a dog. In the third photo below, his right hind leg is really stretched out while kicking up leaves.

Proud Lake State Park. He couldn't wait to scrape at the snow.
More ornaments were added to the little pine tree since our last visit. Lyle had too much energy to take a seated photo by the tree.
Some parts of the trail had hardly any snow, but there were still leaves to rake up with his hind feet.
Certain areas had untouched snow, which of course, Lyle enjoyed eating (first two photos below).
Rolling around. The second photo below is interesting in that some of the snow he kicked up was caught in a ray of sunlight.
