I have found two types of land snails in Michigan, pictured below.  If anyone can identify the species, please e-mail me at kozmicdreams@ymail.com

Pleurocera

Huron Meadows Metropark, June 6, 2020

At the river's edge, there were a whole bunch of these snails congregating.  There were eggs all over.

Unknown Species Type 2

Brian found these two land snails embedded in the moss garden.  I photographed them on July 7, 2010 on a Sweet Williams flower.   These snails are tiny, only about 1/4 inch long shell.

Unknown Species Type 1

August 10, 2010

Brian found more snails just like the one from last June.  I can't seem to find anything on the internet about this sort of snail residing in Michigan or even North America.  He found four in total this time while working in the yard, but I only photographed two.  They were in the "wild" area near the edge of the wooded part of the yard, with strawberries and queen Anne's lace.  I took a photo on a quarter this time to give a good idea of how big these snails really are.  The other photos are on a piece of lettuce (8-10-10) and a green pepper (8-12-10).

June 23, 2009

This land snail's shell is a little over a half inch.  It is the largest land snail I have ever seen in this area in my life (and I have always lived in Michigan).  Brian found it attached to the wall on the side of the house.  It was photographed on June 23, 2009 on a rose and snapdragon.
