I was a little disappointed when they announced that flash photography wasn't permitted because I have never gotten any good concert photos without a flash.  I decided to try something different and manually set the shutter speed instead.  I was surprised to actually get some decent photos.  Although everything is on the dark side, at least some are in focus and those that weren't still had artistic value.
